Special Plug! Animinicon, SoHo NYC!

Special interruption on my planned pictures and sets from Otakon! Just recently I happened to find a small con, a mini convention if you would, named Animinicon, located in SoHo NYC! Upon learning of this humble little con, being only a 30 dollar train ticket away, plus another 15 dollars per day, I thought it'd a fantastic break, as no other cons or events I could find until November, worth reaching.

What were the results of this new, small, con? First Impressions? First Phrase screaming at my head on and on again upon entering?!

Wow, that's small.

Okay okay, I know by the name, I should of expected it to be real mini and tiny, and I even found a lovely girl on youtube who been to it the year before, who detailed me on how the con was and the location, so I had advanced warning, but seriously, it was Small. Just about a hundred people there. But alas that was a Sunday, and according to everyone I spoke to, Saturday was thee big day.

Yet not as cramped as Otakon, plenty of room to sit and walk.

There were no additional rooms, just the long room about the size of 3 living rooms stacked together, which repeated on downstairs for the dealers room. There was only one event going on the time, all ran by the SoHo Host club, modeled after the Ouran Host Club from said named anime.

I didn't get many pictures as the dim lighting murdered my camera, but the lot was excessively friendly, funny, and social, tending to everyone, while serving tea for the, well, tea party.

Fine china was used, prizes were given out, and good fun to be had, makes me regret only making the con for the last day (that day being sunday), though I was happy to see while the event scheduled to end at 6PM, went on for over an hour, but alas, had to depart as we only planned for it to be 6, and we could only stall for an hour longer. They helped us plan how to get back to the train station, withotu us even having to ask mind you! and we were off.

Final props to the Animinicon, and especially the SoHo Host club her planned out the con to the detail to ensure everyone enjoyed their experience! Will def. try and attend all 3 days next year!

Apparently, the SoHo Host Club is planning additional events, every month or so, and I will definitely keep my eye on their face book page! Must look for anyone that can get to New York, at least for one good day!
